Why paint is hard to match
A car's color slowly fades in the sun, so the color on your car is no longer exactly the factory formula. Pearl and multi-layer colors are harder still, because they change with the angle of the light.
Blending
A good painter does not stop paint at the edge of the repair. The new paint is blended into the panels beside it so the eye does not find a line.
